The truth is you can write blog posts anytime you feel like. Of course this is your blog, you are a blogger and this is what bloggers do.
But what about publishing?
I don’t recommend that you publish a blog post everyday… I will discuss more about this later on in this post, but for now lets talk about writing.
[box type=”spacer”]5 Great Blog Writing Tips[/box]
- Practice To Write Everyday
Writing everyday helps you to develop great writing techniques. Most people struggle to write because they fail to do a bit of writing everyday and when they do become a blogger they come up with the conclusion that blogging is hard because they don;t know what to write about.
Everyday writing doesn’t necessarily mean that you are going to write over 1,000 words. If you do simple writing such as 300 words per day then this will help you to become a great writer in no time.
If you do this then you will be writing great blog posts for your blog readers to read.

- Do Research Before Writing
Before you start writing your blog posts, make sure that you have all your facts straight. You don’t want to be publishing crap for your visitors to read.
You want to publish articles that has great value to your blog readers. So doing some research before you start writing will help to widen your knowledge and also your vocabulary.
- Write When You Feel The Urge
Most of the times why my blog posts come out great is because I write when I feel the urge to write.
I don’t like to force myself to write and this is not recommend for anybody to force themselves to write.
Why?
If you force yourself to write then you tend to make mistakes and your articles won’t be of high quality.
Forcing yourself to write also contributes to the blogger burnout syndrome where you get tired of blogging. You no longer enjoy blogging and think of writing a blog post as doing a chore around the house.
You should enjoy writing and this should come naturally. If your writing comes naturally then your thoughts will flow and writing your blog post will be very easy.
- Avoid Distractions While Writing
While writing your blog posts you want to avoid distractions.
Turn the music off.
Close that YouTube tab.
Log out of Facebook for awhile.
Sit back, stay focus and write your blog post.
You don;t have to write a complete blog post. You can write it little by little until you complete it.
I started writing this blog post at work and now I am completing the other half at home.
If you get distracted while writing then you need to save your article and continue writing at another time convenient to you. This will help you to focus more on your writing so that you can product some great contents on your blog.
- Write Awesome Headlines And Introduction
If you write great headlines and awesome introductions to your blog posts then you have done a great job in getting people to your post.
Headlines are the first thing that a person always read before clicking through to an article. If the introduction to your article is great then this will further encourage the person to want to read the article to the end.

- High Post Frequency Attracts And Keep Visitors
In order to attract more traffic to your blog then you have to have a high post frequency.
New blogs especially need to publish on a regular basis so to attract visitors to their blog. If your blog doesn’t have much content then you need to step up your posting frequency so that you can let people know that you have contents on your blog to keep them occupied.
- High Posting Frequency Also Kills A Blog
When a blogger publishes everyday this can help to kill a blog as well.
Publishing too often doesn’t allow your blog visitors the time to make comments or even get time to read all the published articles. Your blog visitors more than likely read other blogs as well so publishing too often will make them miss some of your contents.
Publishing too often can also annoy your blog visitors. If they get an email from you everyday, if they subscribed via email, can be like spamming their inbox. This will make them unsubscribe from your blog.
Also publishing too often can lead to crappy or undeveloped articles. If you post too often this means you are rushing to write. You may leave out the SEO or make a few mistakes while writing your article.
So take time out to write your articles and don’t be so eager to publish on a daily basis.
Low Posting Frequency
This will also help to kill your blog.
Not posting often can make tour traffic die down and also make your subscribers leave your list.
Try not to make a week past without publishing a new article. This will show that you have not abandoned your blog or your blog readers.
[box type=”spacer”]When Is Best To Publish New Posts?[/box]
It is best to publish new blog posts 2 to 3 times weekly, or even more days apart.
Why so far apart?
This gives your blog visitors more time to read your articles.
During these days that you don’t publish you can take time to write more posts to publish at a later date, do blog commenting, guest posting, blog promotion, reply to comments or tweak your blog to make it better.
High blog posting frequency has its advantages and disadvantages. You have to find out what works best for your blog and stick to it.
