I hear a lot of people complaining that blogging is no easy task.

What about me? I would conclude that blogging is really easy to do, especially if you have the passion for doing it.

I must agree that they are challenges pertaining to blogging, but blogging itself is not hard.

I have found some really interesting blogs with tons of unique contents and to my surprise these blogs are operated by teenagers, even younger.

So do you think that blogging is still hard?

Why Do They Say Blogging Is Hard?

People come up with the conclusion that blogging is hard because they fail to accomplish what they had in mind.

The Money
They fail because they thought blogging was all about making money and when they fail to make the money they say it’s hard. Blogging is not about making money, money is one of the benefits of blogging.

The Traffic
This is one of the hardest and most challenging part about blogging, driving traffic to your blog. If you don’t know how to drive traffic to your blog then you are more likely going to say that blogging is hard. I find that driving traffic is pretty easy and simple to do.

The Content
If you can’t write your own content and have to be copying other blogger’s article, this doesn’t mean that blogging is hard. You are just in the wrong niche. As I said, blogging is not hard. Blogging is basically writing about stuff that you know.

How To Know If Blogging Is For You?

But still not everyone can say that blogging is for them.

You can know that blogging is for you if you can complete all these tasks below:

  1. You have chosen the right niche to start your blog
  2. When you can drive traffic to your blog
  3. Keep the traffic coming to your blog
  4. You can write great content for your readers
  5. Don’t think about money while writing a blog post

I like point #5 – thinking about money while writing will cloud your ability to be interesting and engaging, thereby driving away traffic.

I think blogging is easy all you need is the time and the motivation and it also has a lot to do with the passion of a niche . There’s thousands of people just blogging just for the fun of it so i don’t think blogging is really all that hard . Excellent post .

    Hey Kharim,
Honestly, until I star blogging, I thought it was a piece of cake, just some writing for fun. But it tuned out to be that the writing part was indeed fun and interesting, still even though I know ways of driving traffic, apparently I lost some confidence in myself and haven’t applied some of them yet.

Well, blogging is hard if someone is blogging about a topic he/she does not like or creates too much blogs.
I have always found blogging easy because I love it and ideas come easily to mind.

In my own opinion it depends on the person and I agree with what you have said in your post. Blogging will be hard for people who are not really into blogging
They just blog because someone told them they could earn lots of money by blogging
Blogging would be hard if you blog something that you are not inclined with. The tendency is you will ran out of topics of words to post in your blog.
blogging will be easy if you blog something that you really like, something that came from your heart. It doesn’t matter if its a popular niche or not. Just as long as you know what you are blogging about and you know the niche then it would not be difficult for you to create great and quality contents for your readers.

    Kharim,
Blogging is easy and fun if i may say but the hardest part of it is the traffic that will be coming to your blog.

To attract an initial traffic flow that will hopefully convert into regular readers and subscribers, new bloggers who have good writing skills need to focus on:

    A. Learning and understanding SEO (search engine optimization) and optimizing blog post titles, sub-titles, and appropriate keyword use.
    B. Mastering use of the blogging platform that matches their goals and is easy to use.
    C. Choosing a niche and staying with it.
    D. Building relationships with bloggers who have blogs in the same niche.

If it’s not easy to locate your content in search engines then there will be no increase in new traffic. Thus, what determines success is two things:
    * whether or not your content is found, and
    * whether or not those who do find it become subscribers.

In blogging interesting content is an attractor and content is king but promotion is queen. There are 10 standard tips to get traffic:
    (1) You need to have expertise in a niche.
    (2) You need to know how to write very well.
    (3) You need to verify your blog with search engines and structure a reader friendly and search engine friendly blog by learning how to apply basic on page and off page SEO techniques.
    (4) You need to invest time in researching your topics and set up Google alerts and other alerts so you can stay abreast of what’s new in your niche.
    (5) You need to build an archive of high quality original content and keep adding to it by updating your content frequently with new posts in order to hold reader interest.
    (6) You need to learn how to promote your content effectively through social media, social networks and RSS feed sites, thereby encouraging other bloggers to backlink to your posts.
    (7) You need to comment, comment, comment on other blogs in the same niche and backlink to related posts in posts of your own.
    (8) You need to form relationships with other bloggers and create a blog centered community around your own blog.
    (9) You need to encourage your readers to comment on your posts and respond to their comments ASAP after approving them.
    (10) You need to participate in blog carnivals in your niche and become a guest blogger on blogs with a higher PageRank then your own blog has.

Targeted readers are different from casual traffic. Targeted readers arrive on your blog in response to SERPS (search engine page results) knowing the subject matter they are searching for will be found in your posts (assuming you have used relevant tags).

Targeted readers are more likely to become regular readers and subscribers and leave comments on your posts. They are also more likely to backlink to your posts in posts of their own and when they do your blog will receive visitors who click the links. Targeted readers are also more likely to share the URL to your blog with other targeted readers in the same niche.

So this is all i have to say now about Blogging world..

Keep up the good work but sorry for the long explanation. πŸ˜† πŸ™„

    Hey Kharim,
I think your post asks a good question. I think blogging is easy, especially, as you say, if you have a passion for what you write about. Passion makes it easy to do something because you want to, not have to.
The hardest part about blogging is getting traffic. Now it’s not hard in that it’s difficult – it is the bit that needs the most work. To get traffic you at least need to comment on other blogs in your niche regularly, do guest posts etc etc. All of this is much more time consuming than maintaining your own blog. You need to build credibility.
I know I started out with the intention of making money, and can admit it, but now the money is secondary to the satisfaction of interacting with my readers. I’m starting to feel that what I write is of use, and that is very satisfying. I know that if I work hard, the money is the icing on the cake.
    Cheers!
    Mark

I guess blogging is not hard, but creating unique and quality content of our blogs are not easy, but we can always try and i am sure we will be success at the end if we enjoy posting contents in our blog.

    Good post Kharim! πŸ™‚
