Many new bloggers think that blogging is all about the money making and the riches that comes with it. But what about the true passion for blogging? What about the hard work that you have to put in driving traffic? What about the content writing? what about the marketing? What about the research? What about the brain storming? Last but not least, What about the money spending?

Do you think that if you make a blog without having accurate knowledge about your niche and true passion for it will make you rich? Absolutely not!!!

Knowing that you can make a great deal of money by blogging, it can be quite hard to keep your mind off the money while you blog. You have to have a strong mindset so that you can keep focused on blogging and not the money.

Why You Will Not Be Rich

You have to think of ways you can build up your blog and how you can help others through your blog.

Here are some 8 reason why you will not become rich:

  1. If you don’t plan on spending any money. – If do decide to blog for money then you have to spend money to make money. You have to pay for a domain name and hosting.
  2. If you are not passionate about your niche. – Without passion for your niche then you will have no interest in your blog which will lead to the destruction of your blog.
  3. If you only blog with the aim of becoming rich. – It’s best to aim on building up your blog, aim to drive traffic and aim to write unique content. That will help you make money online in the long run.
  4. If you fail to update your blog. – Visitors like to visit a blog that is regularly update. So Try and update your blog at least 2 times per week.
  5. If you copy other people’s content. – This is a no no. Why would your blog readers want to come to your blog if they can get it from a better blog that you have copied from and get it faster?
  6. If your blog does not have eye catch headlines. – Eye catching topics are what draws in traffic and readers to your site. So make sure your blog topics pack lots of meat.
  7. If you have more ads then content on your blog. – Your readers/visitors are the people that help you to make money and if you scare them away with your ads then you will fail.
  8. If you think that you can make money over night. – It might take you several months or even over a year for you to make money. It does not happen over night.

How To Keep Focused

  1. Find your true passion. – If you have true passion for your niche then this is the best thing that you can do to lay the foundation for a successful blog.
  2. Read other bloggers success story. – If you read what other bloggers have achieved through blogging then you will want to be successful like them.
  3. Visit other blogs. – When you visit other blogs, it will make you fell energized to blog and become a better blogger. Making comments can also help you to gain traffic.

It is also best if you are truly passionate about your blog’s niche because without this passion, you will fail to even make a single dollar.

Thanks Kharim for these post but i disagree with you on one point spending money. Some free blogging sites have recorded success stories with some of their users who earn thousands of dollars a month, not that an income like that can make any serious blogger to be termed rich but not spending any money is as effective as spending money only difference is how long takes to get results but more importantly how well you market your blog and how passionate you are of your niche

People who have a passion for what they’re doing will become successful – no matter what they’re doing. On the flip side, people who pursue something just for the sake of money will not have happiness or meaning in their work.

      Hi Kharim
You really speak the true in this issue. I think that most people that start a blog only to be rich will not last long. The properly give up within the first 3 month. No one can start up a money maker blog in less than 3 months. It takes time and hard work and even if you have both there are no guaranties.

People only think that blogging gives money so they decide to start their own blog and most of them fail to make money online because they online see money via blogging and that is not true blogging. There is a hard work behind successful blogging and interaction with fellow bloggers who guide us what to do. I have been doing blogging for quite a while now but I didn’t earn anything except from Google adsense which is the only small income for me via blogging.
Your all points are worth reading ….sharing this post……. 🙂

      Great points.
I agree that blogging should no really be done with profit in mind. If you do so people will know you only care about there money. If you blog from the heart it will grow and eventually the money will come. It just takes patience.

You ought to seriously think about working on growing this website into a major voice in this field. You clearly have a grasp handle of the topics everyone is searching for on this blog anyways and you could definitely even make a buck or two off of some ads. I would look into following recent headlines and raising the volume of blog posts you put up and I guarantee you’d start seeing some nice traffic soon. Just a thought, good luck regardless!

I always tell people to launch niche blogs that are targeted at topics that they are really interested in and enjoy writing about. If you aren’t going to do that, then you may as well outsource everything. Otherwise you will hate your job just like it was a regular 9-5 one that you don’t like.

When you are doing something that you love to do, you will naturally get very good at it. When you get that good at something, the money will start to come naturally without you killing yourself for it.

Thanks for the comment Kathy. You mentioned some really great tips here and I don’t like the 9-5 living. I rather be my own boss and set my own time 😀

successful blogs usually have the best content. Its not like starting up a blog, write just anything and wait for people to just give you site hits. There’s a lot of effort to come up and write something productive before people can appreciate your content. Other than making money, its good to make a name for yourself as you blog and eventually your blog will become a success.

Definitely, you have to invest a lot into your blog to get back from it. A lot of people make that mistake. They don’t fully utilize all the tools they have available to them and wonder why they end up short and frustrated. It is not an overnight rich technique, but you can come up lucrative if you put enough into it.

I think the real benefit of having a blog isn’t to go after the money but to develop the business mindset.

A lot of skills you utilize when blogging are almost exactly parallel to business: networking, producing products (your content), sharing (marketing) and keeping up with it (work schedule).

The major point is to not treat your blog as your money maker but use it as a platform to make money online. I know that sounds kinda odd but there’s a huge difference between trying to make money through your blog and having a business where you talk about it.

Setup systems that will generate you revenue and use your blog to become authoritative so you can create the business mindset 🙂

A good point, Murly! I’ve never thought about it in this way, but you’re absolutely right about the blogging/business parallels.

It is true that you will not become rich if you do not invest all things you have especially when it comes to money. You have to invest your time, money, effort and right attitude. You made a great article Kharim! Keep on sharing!
