How To Install WordPress On Hostgator In 5 Minutes – [Video]

In one of my previous post I explained why I moved my blog from Godaddy to Hostgator, and as promised I will be showing you how you can install word press on your account in less than 5 minutes.

There are many ways of installing WordPress on your site. You can download the script from WordPress.org then upload it through your file manager or uploading it via ftp and then install it.

In this post I will be showing you, in a video tutorial, how to install WordPress with a few clicks of the mouse and install a theme within 5 minutes.

3 Important Meta Tags For A Successful Site

For each site, blogs, forum, even a single webpage, the importance for meta tags are very high. In order for any site to be successful then you have to use the necessary meta tags to help boost it’s level of success.

What are meta tags?
They are information inserted into the “head” area of your web pages. Other than the title tag, information in the head area of your web pages is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Instead, meta information in this area is used to communicate information that a human visitor may not be concerned with.

For Example: meta tags can tell a browser what “character set” to use or whether a web page has self-rated itself in terms of adult content, etc.

11 Plugins To Enhance Blog Comments

I know when bloggers write a new post with great contents they want lots of comments coming into that article. When a visitor reads the article he/she may take some things into consideration before making a comment. The readers will browser around to see what rewards they can get for making a comment.

For example, being a top commentator, they get do-follow links to their blog, twitter profile link, etc.

Well I use 11 great plugins on my blog so I get lots of comments on my articles and I am very happy for that. If you don’t have these plugins installed on your blog as yet, then you might want to add them.

What To Do After Installing WordPress?

After installing WordPress on your hosting, there are some must do list of things that you need to do in order to sky rocket your blog.

Installing a blog and launching it right away wouldn’t be the wisest thing to do. You first have to tweak your blog and make it look presentably, not only for yourself, but also for your blog readers.

How To Index Your Articles On Google Search Engine

I love when I write a new article and as soon as I publish it Google index’s it.

Having your articles showing up on Google Search Engine as you publish them is really great. For the past month I have got 15% of my traffic from Google according to my Google Analytics statics.

This resulted in:
181 Visits
7.41 Pages per visit
13 minutes 24 seconds Avg. Time On Site
29.19% Bounce Rate
11.89% New Visits

So it is really important to have your articles indexed by the number 1 site on the web, Google.

BlogEngage For Thesis Theme

I recently spoke about BlogEngage being a must for all bloggers. But when I was installing the blog engage button I encountered a small problem but this was over come easily with a few codings that I placed in my Thesis Theme.

The problem was this, when I went to the settings of the BlogEngage there is only one option to align where you want to place your button.
These options for alignments are:

  • Top Left
  • Top Right
  • Bottom Left
  • Bottom Right
  • None
  • After I selected the top left (because that’s where I wanted my button to be displayed) I notice an error in my Thesis teaser section.

    10 Reasons Why I Love WordPress

    I love to blog and I love WordPress. This is me in the picture with my iPod Touch showing an image with “I Love WordPress” on the screen.

    I have been using WordPress for the past 1 month and 4 days now. I launched this blog 3 weeks and 4 days ago, and I have loved the content management system (CMS) that WordPress has.
